The title of the book alludes to the fact that there is something in the book of Genesis about Jesus that needs to be discovered. The Greek word for mystery is mysterion . This does not mean that it is something that is not knowable, but rather that it is something that has not yet been revealed. Searching Genesis reveals the plan of God before the foundation of the earth, with Jesus as the central figure in the stories collected in the book of Genesis, from the first day of creation to the death of Joseph .The story of Jesus as the Messiah is thought of as having been recorded in the books of the New Testament. This tends to lead to the idea that Jesus as the Messiah is exclusive to the New Testament. This book presents Jesus sculpted in the narratives of Genesis as the Creator of the world, the Saviour of the world and the Ruler of the world. In the book of Genesis, we find Jesus as the Creator of the world. We discover that He is Lord and God, that He is the Ruler of the world and the Judge of the world. The narratives tell the story of Jesus as the sacrifice for sin and the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the world. He seals the new covenant in His blood. But He has also been victorious over death and was raised from the dead to be seated on the right hand of the Father. He is the Son of Man, but also the Son of God, and He is coming back to rule the world as the King of kings.
