Numbers have significant meaning in Bible. From Genesis 2:7 when God breathed in man the breath of life and he became a living creature, we find the blueprint of man as a living being in numbers. Just as we can see this in the physical creation of man, the same numbers can be found in the spiritual rebirth of man.

As a background, one needs to understand that each Hebrew and Greek letter has a numerical value. For instance, the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is aleph and has a numerical value of one. The last letter of the Hebrew alphabet is tav and has a numerical value of 22 or 400, depending on the methodology used. (See the table in the appendix.)

Greek letters also represent numbers. The first letter alpha has a numerical value of 1 and the last letter, the omega, a value of 400.

The anatomy of the human body reveals some astounding numbers but what is more astounding is that the rebirth of man by the Holy Spirit can be identified by the same numbers. When adding the numerical value of the Hebrew and Greek letters for the fruit of the Spirit, they are all multiples of the numbers 13 and 31, except where the sum is a prime number. In addition to this, the value of the fruits by themselves are sums and products of 23 and 32. The gifts of the Holy Spirit also include the numbers 37 and 73. For instance a word of wisdom in Hebrew is davar hachokmah. Using the ordinal value of the word chokmah , which is wisdom, the letters have a value of 37 and the using the standard value, it has a value is 73.

The number 8 is the foundational number. In Leviticus 17:14 it states that the life is in the blood. In the physical body there are four main types of blood A,B AB and O. Because the RhD can be positive or negative for of each group, it gives 8 blood types . A positive and negative, B positive and negative, AB positive and negative and O positive and negative.

The idea of a beginning expressed in the number 8 was already introduced in Genesis. From Genesis 7 we know that when God destroyed the earth, He saved eight people, Noah and his household.
